WayToMom ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard information when you use the WayToMom Android application (com.waytomom.app). By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the WayToMom experience:

• Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign up through Microsoft Azure CIAM (our authentication provider).
• Pregnancy profile — your due date, doctor's name, and hospital name, entered voluntarily in the app.
• Baby kick logs — timestamps and count of kick-counting sessions you record.
• Medicine logs — medicine names, doses, and the times you mark them as taken.
• Nutrition logs — food and meal entries, water intake amounts, and walk completions you record each day.
• Scan records — which of the standard pregnancy scans you have marked complete and any reminder dates you set.
• Daily progress summaries — aggregated daily totals (water, kicks, medicines) used to generate your monthly insights charts.

We do not collect location data, contacts, camera images, or any biometric information.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To personalise the app experience (week of pregnancy, due date countdown, baby size).
• To store and display your health logs across sessions.
• To generate monthly insights and adherence charts shown only to you.
• To send local device notifications for scan reminders you schedule (processed entirely on your device via WorkManager — no server involved).
• To authenticate your account securely and keep it isolated from other users.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

3. Data Storage

• On your device — your pregnancy profile, scan completion status, and daily progress are stored in Android EncryptedSharedPreferences and a local Room database. This data never leaves your device unless you are signed in and syncing.
• In the cloud — when you are signed in, your health logs (kick logs, medicine logs, nutrition logs) are stored in Microsoft Azure Cosmos DB in the Central India region. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.

4. Authentication

WayToMom uses Microsoft Azure CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) to handle account creation and sign-in. We do not store your password — it is managed entirely by Microsoft's identity platform. You can sign in with your email or a linked Microsoft account. We receive only a secure token and your basic profile (name, email).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Your data may be processed by the following sub-processors solely to operate the app:

• Microsoft Azure — cloud hosting, database, and authentication.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users, but we will always minimise what is shared.

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you maintain an active account. If you delete your account, all cloud-stored data associated with your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days. On-device data is removed when you uninstall the app.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — update incorrect information in your profile at any time within the app.
• Deletion — request deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format.

8. Children's Privacy

WayToMom is intended for use by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Security

We take security seriously. All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. On-device data is stored using Android's EncryptedSharedPreferences backed by the Android Keystore. Cloud data is encrypted at rest in Azure Cosmos DB. Despite these measures, no system is completely immune to risk — please use a strong, unique password for your account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
